Jackie was born in 1959 in Romford, Essex and was educated at the University of Glamorgan where she gained a Bachelor of Education Degree (2:1) in Human Movement Studies and Ceramics.
Jackie taught in Cardiff, Wales UK for 1 year before setting up Canon Hill Potteries with her husband and business partner. Canon Hill Potteries employed 15-30 people in the Barry area and over her 20 year tenure Jackie’s responsibilities included production, production planning, logistics, HR and Health & Safety.
After running her own successful business for many years, Jackie went on to join Crownford Limited, a Wales based HR and Health & Safety Consultancy. Jackie remained at Crownford for 7 years and during this time held senior management positions responsible for the HR Team, consultant training and latterly, client relationship management.
In January 2009 Jackie joined TES, who were familiar clients from her previous employment. Jackie was initially taken on as Senior Human Resources Business Manager, but has since taken on additional responsibilities and currently holds the position of HR/H&S Director.
This role is responsible for developing and implementing a HR strategy, a fully compliant HR Management System and re-accreditation to IIP, along with the day to operations of a busy HR Department. In addition the responsibility to implement a Safety Management System under the auspices of OHSAS 18001 has been taken on by Jackie.
Jackie’s achievements since joining TES include managing the re-engineering and recruitment process resulting from the growth and relocation of TES. The impending launch of an HR/IT system has been a project of her department, where she is currently supported by a HR Officer and a HR Manager.
In the area of Health & Safety she is supported by a Facilities and H&S Manager, H&S Advisor and the Safety Management Committee.
Jackie lives in Barry, Wales UK and is married with two daughters. Jackie’s interests are mostly sports related; sailing, skiing, surfing, diving, rugby and netball.
