Karl was born in 1973 in Altrincham, Cheshire and was educated at Bath University where he gained a 2:1 BENG Hons degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
Having been sponsored by British Aerospace (BAE) through university he went on to work for them in both Military and Civil Aircraft sectors, with the majority of his time spent supporting performance assessment, product improvement and flight test initiatives on the BAe 146 / RJ series engines, APU’s and associated systems. (ALF502, ALF507 and APS1000).
In 1998, Karl joined TES as an Engine Program Manager, responsible for delivery of engine maintenance management services across all mid to large commercial turbine engine types, on behalf of Airlines, Lessors and Financiers, at a time when TES were in the early stages of developing their service offering.
Since joining the company, Karl has held further positions as Engineering Manager accountable for all Engineering resource and service delivery and then to Engineering Operations Manager, accountable for management of the whole TES Consultancy business, development and growth thereof.
Karl is a Chartered Engineer and holds a Diploma in Company Direction (IOD). He currently holds the post of Operations Director with a team of approximately 60 staff, split across engineering, engineering workshops, materials management and logistics, providing operational support to its client base, TES Aviation Group and owners DVB Bank.
Karl is married and has two children. He is a keen aviator owning his own aircraft and qualified as a commercial pilot with Frozen Air Transport Pilots Licence privileges.
