TES is a passionate supporter of charities, understanding the importance of helping local communities and ‘giving something back’ to local areas. Following the global expansion of the company, TES has been able to reach a number of very different but worthy causes.
ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that delivers shelter, warmth and dignity to people effected by disaster worldwide. ShelterBox provides a rapid response to victims who have lost everything and provides an emergency kit of essentials to assist in sur
vival. Each ShelterBox can be rapidly deployed to disaster areas and provides equipment to cover the basic human needs of shelter, food, water, warmth and safety during emergency situations. Every donation of £590 by TES will allow ShelterBox to deliver emergency shelter and lifesaving equipment to a family who have lost everything following a disaster.
Each contains a ten man tent, emergency survival equipment, Mosquito nets, basic tools, beds, sleeping bags, cooking utensils and a stove, water containers and purification, hats and gloves and even some toys for the children. The ShelterBox can be rapidly deployed to disaster areas and each box provided by TES can be tracked throughout the world to measure the impact of our donation.
World Vision is a child sponsorship programme that supports children and their communities in nearly 100 countries. The charity is motivated by the belief that no child should live in poverty and works alongside communities to improve their well-being. The charity allows you to sponsor a child for a little as 75p per day which helps provide the child with life’s basics, such as:
• Food security
• Clean, safe water
• Healthcare
• Education
• Sustainable livelihoods
• Support against HIV and AIDS
The child’s community also benefits in lasting ways through the building of wells and schools and as a result of training in farming and healthcare.
You can write letters to your sponsored child, send cards on special occasions and post the occasional gift. In return you receive replies from your sponsored child and, over the years, learn how your sponsorship is helping them.
The charity provides annual updates about the progress your child is making, together with how your support is benefiting the whole community.
