With more engines under management than all but the worlds largest airlines and leasing companies, TES' knowledge of maintenance costs, removal rates, component values and lease terms is unrivalled.
Maintenance Budgets
Real-time technical and financial tracking of an engine fleet enables the lessor or operator to predict their future engine maintenance costs thus minimising their financial exposure. TES utilises EFPAC™ to accurately forecast the engine removal plan and predict the shop visit maintenance. This data is used to generate a maintenance budget detailing all the maintenance costs the operator or lessor can expect to incur over a defined period of operation.
Maintenance Reserve tracking and forecasting / shortfall
Availability of maintenance reserves to cover engine maintenance events is a major concern for both operators and lessors. TES utilises EFPAC™ to accurately track the maintenance reserves being accrued as well the amount predicted to be available for each shop visit event. With this information readily available, operators and lessors will have a clear understanding of the expected reserve shortfalls and can therefore provision additional funds to cover the likely maintenance costs.
Cost per hour analysis / Time and Material Review
Many engine maintenance organisations and OEMs offer cost per hour programmes to cover engine shop visit costs. However, it can be difficult for an operator or lessor to establish whether these will lead to savings over the duration of the programme.
Using TES’ extensive knowledge of typical engine maintenance costs and expected intervals between shop visit events, TES can compare a cost per hour proposal against a typical time and material approach and advise the most cost effective maintenance policy. The claimed savings can be even more unclear in the case of a leased fleet; however, with TES’ detailed knowledge of aircraft/engine lease contracts, the effects on lease return conditions and reserve payments can be factored into the analysis.
Invoice Review (including warranty management/insurance claims)
A detailed review of shop visit invoices is a critical part of keeping engine maintenance cost as low as possible. With a wealth of experience gained from working with many different maintenance organisations, TES can carry out a detailed, accurate review of a shop visit invoice to highlight preparation errors and discrepancies against the engine maintenance contract and agreed workscope.
This service is provided either a stand along project, or as part of the management of a shop visit, where control of all maintenance activities leads to a far greater overall saving. The invoice review can also include a physical scrap review at the maintenance facility of the replaced components.
Valuations
TES’ knowledge of engine transaction values, engine trading, leasing and maintenance costs enables an accurate financial analysis of current market engine values to be carried out. The experienced technical services team are thoroughly familiar with engine life cycle trends and piece part component pricing ensuring the financial analysis accurately reflect residual values over specific time periods.
Consultancy
Many years of engine fleet and shop visit management has given TES considerable understanding of the financial issues arising from engine operation and maintenance activities. Therefore if there is a requirement that is not covered above, TES can put together a tailored consultancy project to meet the customer’s precise requirements.
